THE OPPORTUNITY

The Company needs a proactive, results-oriented, highly effective, and hands-on Senior Corporate Accountant (“SCA”).

It is essential that the individual possess experience with all aspects of accounting, as well as being a self-motivated individual that does not require significant oversight. In addition, the individual is required to have strong verbal and written communication skills with all levels of an organization and is preferred to have experience with the Company’s ERP software, Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities:

The SCA role is responsible:

  • Ensure the timely and accurate execution of the month-end close, reporting and reconciliation cycle, the identification and implementation of necessary controls whereby ensuring the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP.
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • The preparation of customer invoices monthly and collection activity on the invoices.
  • Month end closing expected to be completed within ten (10) business days of month end.
  • Perform financial analysis.
  • Perform budget and forecast preparation for internal and external reporting
  • Ensure compliance with applicable sales and use tax state filings, Federal Excise Tax, and Segment Fee Tax filings.
  • Work with the Controller on analysis and improved integration of software.
  • Preparation of proper journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Work to improve accounting and payroll processes in the department.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced accounting professional with in-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting, and financial reporting systems, and possess strong internal processes and controls experience.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The SCA will report to the Controller and have a dotted line to the Chief Financial Officer. The SCA will work closely with the Company’s executive leadership as well as Owner Service Managers, the primary daily point of contact for owners. There are currently no direct reports that are required to be managed by the SCA.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited academic institution.
  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience. Aviation experience would be a plus.
  • Experience within the accounting function of high growth, entrepreneurial companies.
  • Experience with either leading or significant involvement in month end close process and proficiency with Sage or other ERPs
  • A solid foundation in accounting theory and GAAP accounting standards
  • Strong technological aptitude, including Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
  • Critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive individual with high level energy, self-direction and motivation, with a “get it done” approach and attitude.
  • Proven ability to successfully work with all levels of the organization, from the executive team and to middle management, peers, and clerical staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, collaboration skills and strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented, positive mindset.
