Position Overview:

Trimitron Corp is seeking an experienced Quality Control Specialist III to provide advanced quality oversight, technical evaluation, and engineering support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific’s Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Division. This senior-level role ensures that all products, processes, test activities, and fabricated components meet stringent Navy, DoD, and industry quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with U.S. Navy navigation systems, strong technical problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, evaluate system performance, and support prototype development in a mission-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all products, services, and engineering processes meet established quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and evaluations of equipment, components, and fabricated models supporting PNT system development.
  • Verify that testing processes operate effectively, safely, and in accordance with Navy and DoD requirements.
  • Document findings, non conformances, and corrective actions with precision and clarity.
  • Support quality audits, readiness reviews, and technical assessments for PNT-related systems.
  • Technical & Engineering Support
  • Apply engineering concepts and practical technical knowledge to support system testing, troubleshooting, and evaluation.
  • Interpret engineering plans, schematics, and technical drawings to support quality assessments and fabrication activities.
  • Contribute to the design and fabrication of test specimens, prototypes, and model components.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD) tools to prepare shop drawings and support model construction.
  • Ensure material specifications, fabrication methods, and engineering practices align with quality standards.
  • Provide hands-on support to PNT engineers and program teams working on U.S. Navy navigation systems.
  • Support system integration, prototype testing, and operational assessments for PNT technologies.
  • Serve as a recognized technical resource in U.S. Navy navigation equipment and systems.
  • Solve complex technical problems related to navigation systems, fabrication, testing, and quality processes.
  • Provide technical insights and recommendations to engineering teams and government stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and system performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI security clearance (active).
  • High School Diploma, GED, trade/industrial school graduate, or related military training.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience solving technical problems.
  • Training in engineering techniques, software design/maintenance, or related technical disciplines.
  • Practical understanding of engineering concepts, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Experience testing equipment to ensure safe and effective operation.
  • Ability to interpret engineering plans, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with CAD software, shop drawings, material specifications, and fabrication methods.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience with U.S. Navy Navigation equipment and systems, including expertise in at least one of the following:

- Systems Requirements

- Operational Requirements

- Test & Evaluation

- Training

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognized expertise or leadership in U.S. Navy navigation systems.
  • Experience supporting NIWC, NAVWAR, NAVSEA, or other Navy technical programs.
  • Familiarity with PNT technologies, navigation sensors, or maritime system integration.
