COMPENSATION: $70,000 per year, paid bi-weekly

Position Description
The National Dax Director is responsible for the creation of a strategic national vision and fundraising plan for the Dax Program, located in five cities: Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Denver. The Dax Program serves college students experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity to help them remain in school and on track to graduation. The Director works to establish and maintain positive, productive relationships with program staff, university partners, government agencies and industry professionals ensuring consistent application of Depaul USA policies and procedures.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Provide leadership in the development of strategic objectives and vision for the Dax program serving young adults; communicate this vision to public, staff, and stakeholders nationwide. Liaise with local city officials, funders, and community groups to strengthen services for homeless and disadvantaged college students.
Enhance cross-functional collaboration between Dax programs ensuring that evidence-based interventions are implemented consistently. In cooperation with the Chief Operating Officer, create and maintain systems, procedures, and processes for the delivery of services.
Develop a base of non-governmental funding philanthropic communities, corporations and university partners to complement existing operating support.
Expand university partnerships through proactive outreach, including initiating contact with academic programs, administrative and pastoral departments, advancement offices, and faculty to establish recruitment pipelines and strengthen long-term institutional support.
Work closely with Chief Executive Officer and Sr. Director of Development to develop an overall fundraising strategy and identify potential foundation support.
Design, implement, and manage national fundraising campaigns and events. Manage all strategies and activities for donor cultivation, solicitation, and relations.
•In conjunction with the Executive team, develop plans to grow the program, financially and programmatically.
Foster a cohesive and dedicated team, facilitating leadership development for all staff. In collaboration with the Director of People & Values, establish and oversee a robust orientation and training program for all positions, utilizing a combination of in-house and external strategies.
Oversee all compliance processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting to external stakeholders. Maintains program records for outputs and outcomes, providing reports and statistics as required.
•Works with the Chief Operating Officer to maximize the quality of services offered.
•Creates an environment with the necessary structure, service coordination support, interaction, and safety to facilitate participant growth.

Additional Tasks and Responsibilities
•Work in partnership with the Development team to promote and raise awareness of the Dax program, key partnerships, wins, and success stories.
•Conduct tours of the building for visitors and volunteers.
•Build good working relationships with other projects and agencies.
•Maintain all records: financial, managerial, statistical, and operational of work.

General Responsibilities
•Stays informed of current local and national events, trends, and issues (wherever possible) that impact Depaul USA’s work with the homeless.
•Strives continuously to develop the role in collaboration with the supervisor to ensure that all tasks are undertaken effectively and appropriately, meeting the strategic goals and objectives of Depaul USA.
•Participates in internal/external meetings as required and attends training events, conferences, and other functions as necessary. Participates in regular supervision and annual appraisal and helps in identifying your job-related development and training needs.
•Ensures adherence to all Depaul USA policies and procedures, particularly those relating to Health and Safety, Safeguarding, Code of Practice, and Confidentiality.
•Contributes to the effective implementation of Depaul USA’s Equal Opportunities Policy as it affects both the organization and its work with this client group.
•Undertakes the role professionally, always maintaining a high-quality work standard and always working in accordance with the Vision, Mission, and Values of Depaul USA.
•Undertakes any other duties that may be required which are commensurate with the role.

Qualifications
The ideal Director will be an experienced professional with several years of experience in program management in academia. Fundraising, advancement, and/or grant writing experience is also preferred. They will ideally have experience: leading others, designing programs, and developing relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders. The Director will have the following experience and attributes:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent lived experience.
•5 years progressively responsible administrative and supervisory experience.
•Exceptional communication, multi‐tasking, and interpersonal skills. Social media and/or PR skills are a plus.
Strong organizational and leadership abilities, able to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across all levels.
•Ability to organize tasks, events, and people and delegate effectively.
•Ability to exercise independent judgment when appropriate and strong decision-making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with technology to support work.

Special Requirement
Must possess a valid driver's license and comply with Depaul USA’s Motor Vehicle Policy during the course of employment. Additionally, occasional use of a personal vehicle may be necessary.

Work Schedule:
Primarily in-person in Philadelphia, PA, Jamaica, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL or Denver, CO.
Monday-Friday, 7am - 4pm , but schedule will need to be flexible for travel.
Travel to Dax program cities one week per quarter.
