Your Impact
As Electrical Superintendent, you will lead all electrical and fiber optic scope across large-scale data center construction projects. You are responsible for safe execution, schedule adherence, quality control, and field coordination across power distribution and mission-critical fiber systems.

This role requires hands-on experience overseeing fiber backbone installations in high-density data center environments. You will ensure electrical and fiber work is sequenced properly to support commissioning, client turnover, and uptime expectations.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Oversee all electrical and fiber optic construction activities on assigned data center projects
  • Plan and manage schedules for switchgear, RPPs, panelboards, grounding systems, conduit, cable tray, and lighting installations
  • Lead and supervise journeymen, foremen, apprentices, low voltage crews, and fiber subcontractors
  • Manage installation of single mode and multi-mode fiber systems, including high-density MPO and MTP deployments
  • Oversee fusion splicing crews and enforce proper fiber handling standards, bend radius control, and pathway management
  • Ensure OTDR testing, light level testing, and documentation are completed prior to commissioning
  • Coordinate closely with QA/QC and commissioning teams to meet turnover milestones
  • Inspect completed work to verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and safety standards
  • Enforce NEC, NFPA 70E, and site-specific safety protocols at all times
  • Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and daily field reviews
  • Maintain accurate reporting on manpower, production, incidents, and progress
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical and fiber issues and implement effective solutions
  • Travel to project sites as required to support execution and client needs
  • Respond to emergency situations to minimize downtime and protect critical infrastructure

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of electrical construction experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or superintendent role
  • Direct experience leading fiber optic backbone installations in large-scale data center environments
  • Experience overseeing fusion splicing, OTDR testing, fiber certification, and turnover documentation
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and data center uptime standards
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, telecom drawings, and fiber routing schematics
  • Proven ability to manage multiple trades in fast-paced, schedule-driven construction environments
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Fiber certification required; additional electrical or OSHA certifications preferred
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Willingness and ability to travel based on project needs

Work is performed in active data center construction environments and may include exposure to electrical hazards, elevated work areas, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
  • Lift arms above shoulder level and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas.
  • Work in restricted areas including switchgear rooms, vaults, trenches, utility tunnels, and crawl spaces.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project demands.
  • Good vision and hearing required. Must correctly identify colors.
