Job Summary
The Director of Clinical Services reports directly to the VP for Behavioral Health and provides leadership to the Clinical Staff of the Agency’s New York State Office of Mental Health licensed centers. Specific responsibilities include ensuring that clients’ needs are accurately assessed and effectively treated, budget or financial targets are achieved, ensuring treatment programs maintain high quality standards, meet target outcomes, goals and objectives, and comply with applicable local, state and/or federal regulations, statutes and / or guidelines. Enthusiastically supports, practices and communicates agencies Mission and Statement of Values.
Position Responsibilities
Candidate must be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the New York State Department of Education, with specialized training in clinical social work or social work counseling, three (3) years of post-licensure experience in treating behavioral health issues, three (3) years of supervisory experience.

Job Summary

Position Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Clinical Supervisors and Clinicans as needed to operate the behavioral health centers.
- Facilitates and participates in staff meetings, high risk meetings, group supervision and other clinical meetings such as AOT and Case conferences as needed.
- Ensures that direct services are of the highest quality possible, are client centered trauma informed, and provide optimal outcomes through the use of best practice interventions.
- Provides ongoing assessment of service area needs and emerging trends in the field and recommends changes in services as appropriate.
- Ensures that high-risk clients are monitored, and cases reviewed weekly.
- Participates in the incident review committee.
- Based on the needs of the centers, maintains an individual caseload, providing ongoing direct clinical treatment to patients, according to individual’s respective discipline.
- Assigns and monitors the distribution of caseloads within the center sites.
- Encourages the development of staff's professional skills by monitoring overall performance and recommending appropriate in-service training, etc.;
- Establishes goals and performance standards for staff members and conducts employee evaluations based on those standards.
- Counsels and disciplines, under the supervision of the VP for Behavioral Health, employees who fail to meet performance standards.
- Provide adequate clinical coverage of the centers in collaboration with Clinical Operations Director to ensure appropriate services are provided.
- Active participant of Continuous Quality Improvement activities and a member of the CQI Committee.
- Works alongside HR to recruit Clinicians.
- Responsible for the onboarding, training and retention of Clinicians.
- Participates in Case conferences as needed
- Addresses crises as needed as back up to Clinical Supervisor and Associate Director.
- Member of monthly Learning Collaborative Meetings. Actively participates in discussion and decision making; attends service / program team meetings as appropriate.
- Acts as liaison to the community to encourage client's positive acceptance and participation in the community at large;
- Completes all work and reporting functions in a timely fashion.
- Interacts with stakeholders, clients, referral sources, co-workers and others in a positive, client-oriented, trauma informed manner; provides a positive example of professional behavior in the workplace.
- Adheres to the Agency’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Plan.
- Responds supportively to changes in programs and policies and taking a broad view of one’s position by assuming additional responsibilities when the need arises.
- Participates in County mtgs such as AOT, Article 31, etc.
- ADP management and benefit time approval of AD and Supervisors. Backup as necessary.
