Position Snapshot

The Community Liaison plays a critical role in expanding hospice access by building trusted relationships across the healthcare community. Reporting to the Administrator, this role supports census growth through ethical, compliant marketing practices while strengthening awareness of hospice services throughout the service area.

As a key member of the business development team, you will connect providers, facilities, patients, and families with compassionate end-of-life care; serving as both a relationship-builder and a strategic partner in the organization’s growth.

About You

You are a relationship-driven healthcare professional who understands that trust, credibility, and integrity are the foundation of sustainable growth. You are comfortable working independently in the field, confident engaging with clinicians and administrators, and skilled at navigating regulated healthcare environments.

Throughout your career, you’ve built strong referral networks by listening first, responding quickly, and following through. You know how to represent hospice services with professionalism and empathy, and you take pride in doing the right thing; even when no one is watching. You are organized, self-motivated, and energized by being out in the community making meaningful connections.

How You Will Make a Difference

Each day, you will make a direct impact by strengthening referral relationships and helping more patients and families access hospice care when they need it most.

In this role, you will:

  • Execute marketing and outreach strategies that support census growth and volume projections
  • Identify, develop, and maintain strong referral relationships across hospitals, physician offices, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other healthcare partners
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned referral sources, responding promptly and professionally
  • Represent the organization at community events, networking opportunities, and professional meetings
  • Promote hospice services as a high-quality, compassionate option for end-of-life care
  • Monitor referral trends, market activity, and competitive dynamics, sharing insights with leadership
  • Conduct all business development activities in full compliance with federal and state hospice marketing regulations
  • Ensure all marketing materials and communications are accurate, ethical, and compliant
  • Maintain awareness of community resources and assist referral partners in navigating care options when hospice is not appropriate
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will bring healthcare marketing experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to ethical practice.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience developing referral relationships in a regulated healthcare environment
  • Working knowledge of hospice services, payer structures, and referral processes
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and public relations skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Professional presence with the ability to build credibility and trust in the community
