Job description
Ruchman seeks to hire a Group Services Assistant to support the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). The GSA will assist museum visitors with ticket fulfillment and responding to inquiries regarding ticketing. The GSA will answer any group scheduling questions and assist with coordinating timed tickets for larger groups. Individuals must be articulate, dependable, have strong interpersonal skills and exceptional customer service experience, and work well under pressure. Position requires computer skills and intermediate experience in creating spreadsheets and generating reports.
Position Requirements
• Minimum of (1) one year of public-facing, customer service experience at a museum, cultural institution or attraction.
• Minimum of one year of ticket fulfillment using an online solution.
• Knowledge and experience in understanding the visitor journey in a large museum, cultural institution or attraction.
• Excellent communication skills. Public speaking experience and general understanding of African American history
preferred but not required.
• Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Outstanding organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer and research skills.
• Intermediate experience using Microsoft Excel or Smartsheet to create and update spreadsheets, sort and filter data,
generate reports and create charts.
