Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Legal Collector to effectively manage and collect on a portfolio of accounts as they progress through the legal stream. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting inbound and outbound collection calls, utilizing multiple skip tracing tools to locate customers, analyzing financial situations, overcoming obstacles, and negotiating payment arrangements. This role requires adherence to quality and compliance standards, including applicable laws and regulations governing third-party collections such as the FDCPA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively manage and collect on a portfolio of accounts progressing through the legal stream.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound collection calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Utilize multiple skip tracing tools to locate customers.
  • Analyze each customer’s financial situation to overcome obstacles and negotiate payment arrangements.
  • Meet or exceed monthly production goals to qualify for monthly bonuses.
  • Adhere to quality standards set by the firm and our clients.
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations governing third-party collections, including the FDCPA.
Skills, Knowledge & Education
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in collections and/or a legal environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with demonstrated confidence, initiative, and negotiation abilities.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize, organize daily work, and multi-task effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated sense of urgency.
  • Fundamental financial understanding.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including intermediate skills in Word and Excel.
  • Dependability and regular attendance, with willingness to work more than 40 hours per week if needed.
  • Professional, articulate, and hardworking individual.
