This leadership role sits at the intersection of corporate strategy, market intelligence, and investment decision-making, shaping the long-term growth direction of a global life sciences organization. You will partner closely with executive leadership, business units, and corporate development teams to identify new growth opportunities, evaluate emerging markets, and define strategic priorities across multiple end markets. The role requires a strong ability to translate complex market dynamics into clear investment theses and actionable recommendations. Operating in a highly matrixed, global environment, you will influence capital allocation decisions and support high-impact M&A strategy and execution. You will also help uncover whitespace opportunities and adjacencies that expand the organization’s footprint across life sciences, diagnostics, and applied markets. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior leadership and board-level discussions.
- Lead enterprise-wide strategic analysis to identify whitespace, adjacency, and market expansion opportunities across key life science and applied markets.
- Monitor macroeconomic, industry, and competitive trends to assess implications for growth strategy, investment priorities, and resource allocation.
- Evaluate market attractiveness by analyzing customer needs, competitive dynamics, industry structure, and financial performance indicators.
- Partner with corporate development and business leaders to identify, screen, and prioritize potential M&A targets aligned with strategic objectives.
- Develop investment cases and strategic recommendations to support capital allocation decisions and long-term business planning.
- Conduct financial modeling, valuation analysis, and due diligence support for strategic initiatives and acquisition opportunities.
- Prepare executive- and board-level presentations that clearly articulate strategic rationale, market insights, and value creation opportunities.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in life sciences, business, or a technical field strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategy, business development, investment banking, or similar strategic roles.
- Strong experience working in complex, matrixed, and global organizations with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Proven ability to analyze markets, synthesize complex data, and develop clear strategic recommendations.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with valuation, modeling, and investment analysis.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior executives and diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in M&A processes, including diligence and deal evaluation, is highly desirable.
- Strong leadership maturity, intellectual curiosity, and ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and fast-changing environments.
- Competitive base salary ranging approximately from $197,360 to $370,050 annually, depending on experience and location
