Job Title: Interconnections Specialist

Position Summary:

The Interconnection Specialist is a highly organized and experienced professional who manages the full lifecycle of project interconnection work streams, from completing applications and coordinating milestones through construction, to performing technical analysis of transmission systems and evaluating market tariffs for strategic planning. The position reports to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for handling several different work streams for customers and projects to reach key milestones through construction.
• Responsible for day-to-day follow-up and communication with the different utilities or other regulating organizations to ensure process completion in a timely manner.
• Complete interconnection applications and supporting documentation for all projects.
• Determine and process the correct paperwork per product, utility, or other regulating organizations.
• Coordinate budgeting and scheduling for interconnection related activities.
• Interdepartmental liaison for technical data gatherings to prepare the utility applications.
• Perform electrical analysis on transmission systems to identify capacity for potential projects and handling necessary transmission & interconnection processes of utilities and ISO’s.
• Responsible for daily input of appropriate notes for all utility tasks, manage project status updates, and generate necessary reports to complete assignments.
• Evaluate transmission and interconnection tariffs, costs, timelines, queue, and processes for a variety of markets and provide strategy between departments.
• Handle interconnection tariff related administrative responsibilities and necessary paperwork to support Sales Operations.
• Provide communication and build relationships with utilities/ISOs and track interconnection progress to ensure projects are complete in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Provide technical support and coordination to Project Managers throughout the lifespan of projects.
• Create regular project interconnection status reports and monitor engineering milestones.
• Support clients by providing input to clients with regards to interconnection processes.
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance interconnection and quality in practices utilized by the development department.

Requirements:

• In-depth knowledge of solar energy systems, installation processes, and industry best practices.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional teams, customers, and external stakeholders.
• Experience in training and mentoring team members is desirable.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• 2+ years of Florida Interconnection experience
• Knowledge of relevant local, state, and federal regulations and codes governing solar installations.
