Lone Pine Associates Inc is seeking a Controller to join a growing organization in real estate development, construction, and property management. This role leads the accounting function with a focus on strong controls, accurate reporting, smart use of systems like Yardi, and continuous process improvement. Location: The Chrisman Group corporate office in Enterprise, Oregon

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours/week / Monday - Friday

Compensation: Salary negotiable based on experience

Requirements:

Direct Responsibilities

Administration & Management

• Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team.

• Set clear expectations, priorities, and accountability for staff.

• Build a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Partner with the CFO on department strategy, staffing, and systems planning.

• Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

• Oversee accounting department operations, including control systems and transaction-processing policies.

• Collaborate with other departments to maintain financial records and system processes.

Systems & Technology

• Serve as the primary accounting systems lead, with deep ownership of Yardi (accounting software).

• Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of entities, properties, charts of accounts, workflows, and reporting structures.

• Evaluate, learn, and implement new software tools that support accounting and reporting.

• Partner with IT and operational teams on system integrations.

• Continuously improve workflows through effective use of technology.

Transactions & Maintenance

• Ensure accounts payable are processed in a timely manner.

• Ensure accounts receivable are billed and collected promptly, including construction contract receivables, developer fees, rent, notes, loans, and owner-related receivables.

• Ensure monthly bank reconciliations are completed and reviewed on time.

• Oversee the creation and maintenance of bank and credit accounts.

• Ensure required debt payments are made on time.

• Maintain the chart of accounts.

• Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.

• Maintain schedules for amortization, depreciation, loans, developer fees, owner distributions, and real estate owned.

• Oversee reconciliations and GL tie-outs.

• Review financial statements and investigate discrepancies.

Reporting

• Issue timely and complete financial statements.

• Prepare and submit reporting packets to lenders and investors when required.

• Provide meaningful financial analysis to leadership.

• Coordinate year-end financial reviews and audit support.

Process Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies and risks in accounting workflows.

• Design and implement improved processes that enhance accuracy and efficiency.

• Standardize procedures across development, construction, and property management entities where appropriate.

• Work cross-functionally to align accounting processes with operational needs.

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.

• Oversee tax and regulatory reporting support in partnership with external advisors.

• Maintain strong documentation for audits and lender reviews.

• Protect the organization through disciplined financial governance.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or equivalent experience.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial principles, and banking.

• Experience in a controller or senior leadership role.

• High level of comfort with accounting systems, specifically Yardi Voyager.

• Ability to learn and adapt to new software quickly.

• Strong people management and coaching skills.

• Demonstrated ability to design and improve processes.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
