Description & Requirements

Elder Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MANTECH international Corporation seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Project Manager. The Project Manager will guide cross-functional teams in executing complex initiatives using Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe. This role focuses on adaptive planning, transparency, and iterative delivery to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and to accelerate results for strategic programs, including Sentinel-driven product safety analytics. The Agile PM will act as a servant leader, promoting collaboration, removing obstacles, and enabling continuous improvement across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Agile Leadership
    • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives), manage Kanban workflows to optimize throughput in continuous delivery environments, and coordinate across multiple teams within SAFe or other scaled Agile frameworks to ensure alignment, synchronization, and dependency management while reinforcing Agile principles.
  • Roadmap Management
    • Develop and maintain project roadmaps, release plans, and risk registers aligned with business priorities and delivery milestones; track progress against KPIs; communicate clear, transparent status updates to stakeholders; and proactively identify and mitigate risks to maintain predictable delivery.
  • Tools & Reporting
    • Utilize MS Planner or equivalent tools for backlog management, sprint tracking, and reporting, while creating dashboards and visual reports that provide real-time visibility into team performance, velocity, and burn-down metrics, and ensuring timely, accurate updates to project artifacts for auditability and compliance.
  • Communications
    • Serve as the primary liaison between business owners, technical teams, and leadership to ensure alignment on goals and priorities, facilitate collaborative decision-making, resolve conflicts to sustain focus and morale, and deliver executive-ready presentations summarizing progress, risks, and recommendations.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Foster a culture of learning and adaptability by coaching teams and stakeholders on Agile principles, roles, and responsibilities, encouraging experimentation and best practices, and identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance delivery efficiency and team satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Agile certification such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or an equivalent credential.
  • 5–7 years of project management experience, including at least 3 years using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe in complex, cross-functional settings.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile project management tools such as Azure Boards, MS Planner, Jira, or similar platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of Agile metrics (velocity, burn-down, cumulative flow) and best practices for reporting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading data-driven or AI/ML initiatives in cloud-based environments, with a preference for Azure.
  • Familiarity with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to support enterprise-level coordination.
  • Demonstrated servant leadership and strong facilitation skills, with a proven ability to enable high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, including engagement at the executive level.

Clearance Requirements:
