Material Handler

2nd shift: 6 pm to 3:30 am

Position Summary:

The Material Handler – Tire Assembly is responsible for safely and efficiently mounting tires onto rims, inflating tires to specified pressure levels, and transporting completed tire and rim assemblies to the designated balancing area. This role supports timely, accurate, and quality-driven material flow while ensuring all work is performed in compliance with Schnellecke safety standards, quality requirements, and OSHA regulations.

The Material Handler works under the direction of the Team Leader and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining 5S standards within the work area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mount tires onto rims safely and accurately, following established work instructions
  • Inflate tires to specified pressure levels using approved equipment and procedures.
  • Roll, maneuver, and transport completed tire and rim assemblies to designated areas, including the balancing station.
  • Visually inspect tires and rims for defects or damage and escalate concerns as required.
  • Follow standard work instructions, quality requirements, and training materials with strong attention to detail.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
  • Comply with all Schnellecke safety policies, OSHA regulations, and operational procedures.
  • Use handheld devices, scanners, and production systems to process materials accurately as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the Team Leader and team members regarding workflow or operational issues.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods in a warehouse or production environment
  • Basic proficiency using handheld scanners, devices, or production tracking systemsfrequently
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to pass a mandatory drug screen and background check in accordance with company standards

Work Environment:

  • Warehouse or production environment with exposure to moving equipment and materials
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling
  • Repetitive physical movements throughout the shift
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required by safety guidelines
