Maintenance Technician Full-Time at Suncoast Center – Clearwater, Florida

Job Duties: Maintain buildings, equipment and grounds. Perform maintenance and repairs as needed. Perform inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms, A/C filters. Maintain fleet vehicles. Assist with moving of files and furniture. Perform other duties as needed or required.

• Must have working knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
• Must have basic automobile maintenance knowledge.
• Must be able to do heavy lifting (move furniture, boxes of records, etc.) and operate equipment required for the position (power tools, hand tools, ladders, etc.).
• Must be able to take the lead on projects and coordinate with Manager.
• Other duties as needed or required.
  
  
• Minimum Qualifications:

  Education: High School Grad or GED

  Experience: Two years minimum experience with maintenance work that includes electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. General contracting/construction experience preferred.

  Computer Literate

  Additional Requirements:

  Must be at least 21 years of age.

  Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.

  Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF, and Must have valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.(must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).

  Must be able to provide official transcripts.

  Working Conditions: Work is performed indoors and outdoors. Required to drive company vehicle. Must meet established insurance requirements. Must have a valid Florida driver license and Agency approved driver status. Travel is required between agency locations and surrounding community. Some clean up and handling of hazardous material may be required.
