Cashier/Cafe Aide at RWJBarnabas Health – New Brunswick, New Jersey

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Food & Nutrition team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the preparation and serving of food for all employees and visitors in the dining room. Will also be responsible for handling financial transactions, while providing excellent and empathetic customer service experience to our families as well as our hospital employees.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Applicant must have previous experience in Food Setting
• Successful completion of general and department specific orientation

• Some cashier or customer service experience
• Basic math and money handling skills

Preferred:

• Preferable Experience in hospitality, a hospital or healthcare setting
• Bilingual or multilingual abilities
• Proficiency in using Micro

Scheduling Requirements:

• This is a part-time position 12p-8:30pm, 8:30am-5pm and 4:30pm-9:30pm
• The candidate must be available to work on weekdays and 3 out of 4 weekends as well as some holidays. Days of the week will vary.

Essential Functions:

• Accurately process all cash and credit payments
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families
• Maintain a clean and tidy checkout area
• Handle all questions and inquiries with professionalism and courtesy
• Assist in other areas as needed based on staffing and patient flow.
• Help maintain the cleanliness of the Dining Room when not busy at the register
• Help refill the condiment stations
• Help refill baverages, chips and snacks throuout the dining room
