OBJECTIVE/PURPOSE:
Under the direction of the Group Home Manager, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Residential, Night
Awake provides oversight supervision of clients, and direct services as needed. Implements facets of the Individual Service Agreements (ISA) as applicable and provides housekeeping services as assigned.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.0 DIRECT SERVICE
Provides varied specified levels of supervision of residents in their home overnight. Attends to personal care needs. Attends to any medical needs. Complies with regulations, policies, and procedures. Performs medication administration, as assigned. Safely transfer clients as individual need determines (toiletries, personal care, etc.). Will follow all individual preferred plans of care such as when to wake a client while sleeping to assist to the toilet etc. Change beds as needed to ensure comfort of residents. Must be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures. Serve as a positive role model to staff and clients.
2.0 PROGRAM IMPLEMENTATION/PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Functions as a member of the Group Home team. Attends staff meetings as scheduled. Implements Individual Plans as applicable and documents data. Serves as an advocate for individual residents. Will communicate any concerns or ways to improve services to the Group Home Manager in a timely manner. Attends meetings as scheduled.
3.0 RECORD-KEEPING
Accurately enters data, progress notes, timesheets, and any other assigned paperwork. Fully completes incident reports in a timely fashion.
4.0 HOUSEKEEPING
Checks house for any real or potential hazards and reports problems to Manager. Attends to laundry. Prepares food items for meals as needed. Performs general housekeeping activities and cleaning tasks as assigned.
* In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Typing and navigating computer skills, e-mail usage.
