Position Summary
KidsPeace is seeking Teachers for immediate openings within our Residential program located in Orefield, PA. Our Teachers will provide education for KidsPeace students in a highly structured and safe environment. Also, where applicable, provide supervision of the classroom teacher aide.
Full time, Monday through Friday
- 7:00AM – 3:00PM
- No Weekends!
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Math, Reading, Language Arts, History, Science, etc. or appropriate discipline required.
- Valid driver’s license
- PA Teaching Certificate preferred. This can be acquired while employed in the KidsPeace Education Program for those interested in starting a new career in teaching by obtaining a Private School certification.
Responsibilities
1. Assess each child’s social, educational and emotional needs and intervene therapeutically to promote learning and positive peer and adult interactions.
2. Complete lesson plans, report cards, transcripts, behavior scales, and treatment documentation on established schedules.
3. Plan and carry out weekly lesson plans that include activities that introduce, reinforce, review and enrich skills.
4. Participate in a team approach that includes other teachers, parents, social workers, and psychiatrists in order to review progress, develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
5. Supervise classroom management and primary crisis intervention utilizing positive behavior management strategies.
6. Administer, score, and evaluate standardized tests for each child on an established schedule.

Competitive pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 annually, based on education and experience.
