Senior Financial Analyst in Waterbury, Connecticut at Waterbury Hospital

Responsible for the preparation and analysis of a variety of both financial and statistical reports for management as well as other internal and external clients. Performs monthly accounting for the Hospital Bridge and quarterly financial updates in preparation for the onsite reviews. Work on and assist with driving various performance improvement projects as part of annual bridge plan. Report to the VP finance Operation/Performance Improvement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Assist in Preparing and analyzing the annual performance Improvement initiatives (Bridge). Prepare and analyze yearly filings for various third party agencies.

· Prepare and analyze a financial and statistical reports, including DNFB, labor reports, grant reports, census reports, etc. Compile data from a variety of sources and prepare comprehensive reports. Analyze trends. Reconcile accounts and sources to prepare required reports.

• Provide a working liaison with other departments to compile information and data, follow up to resolve problems or issues.

· Provide both internal and external customers with information and reports and analyses. Respond to inquiries and provide explanations of trends, analyses and conclusions from internal sources as well as state and/or regulatory authority.

• Performs monthly accounting for the Bridge performance quarterly financial statement in preparation for corporate onsite reviews.
• Prepare and analyze a variety of financial statements and/or reports such as executive summaries, comparative income statements, comparative balance sheets, etc.

• Participate in multiple performance improvement activities. Coordinates weekly meetings; maintain agendas and creates project plans.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• BS in accounting or finance required

• Lean certification preferred

• 2-3 years of experience in finance / accounting / analytical field.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well, communicate effectively, and interact with all levels of management, employees and outsiders.

• The ability to work independently and meet crucial deadlines.
• Advanced computer skills requires particularly in Microsoft Excel (pivot table, vlookups, ifstatements and linking of files)
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures.

• Ability to perform multiple tasks within time frame.

• Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
