Patient Resource Counselor in North Kansas City, Missouri at North Kansas City Hospital

SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Patient Accounts Director, screens and obtains required patient financial data to efficiently screen for additional financial resources, including financial assistance, crime victim�s compensation, etc. Meets with patients and communicates available resources and findings. Interacts with other hospital departments and vendors. Manages account receivable activites to ensure optimal revenue outcomes and customer experience.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years in business office setting or customer service required; 3-5 years billing and/or payer experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:Exceptional customer service and communication skills required; excellent judgement skills in handling difficult situations; ability to work in fast-paced environment; ability to problem solve issues where analysis and complex decision making is required; decisions and actions have direct impact on hospital financials.

OTHER:Knowledge of 501(r) requirements and state resources preferred.

EDUCATION: Required: High School or Equivalent
