COURIER-ATTD at Forrest General Hospital – Hattiesburg, Mississippi

Job Summary:

• Assist the pharmacist in all duties related to the delivery and distribution of medications.
• Delivers medications to patient care areas or run other errands as needed.
• Maintains working area clean and orderly.
• Under the direct supervision of the Employee pharmacy pharmacist, accurately operates the cash register for collection of cash and charges on prescriptions.
• Must reconcile/record monies, trouble shoot register problems.
• Accurately and efficiently place prescriptions ready for sale/pickup into the hanging bag system.
• Accurately perform prescription intake process.
• Request updated patient contact information and allergies when Pioneer RX system indicates
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while begin sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

• Performs other job duties as assigned.

• Demonstrates physical ability required to deliver medications and supplies.
• Demonstrates knowledge of sales clerk duties.
• Demonstrates understanding of PioneerRX system.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional courses in science and math helpful.

Work Experience:

Preferred but not required.

Mental Demands:

Ability to perform repetitive tasks, cooperate with others, take orders and follow directions precisely, and demonstrate initiative.
