Grill Cook / Prep Cook

The Grill/Prep Cook is responsible to ensure all Barberitos guests are presented with superior products that are prepared according to Barberitos' standards. The Grill/Prep Cook also helps to protect the brand by maintaining a sanitary, safe, respectful, efficient and a high-quality work environment while effectively managing operational/product costs. This career opportunity is with an independently owned franchise restaurant.

Responsibilities Include

• Work well and interacts with others respectfully
• Respond positively to coaching and feedback
• Able to learn and execute multiple tasks
• Follow safety, food safety and sanitation guidelines; comply with all applicable laws
• Maintain clean and neat work environment
• Prepare and deliver all products according to Brand standards
• Grilling and cutting whole flanks of steak
• Cleaning char and flat grills
• Cooking and reheating proteins for service, such as chicken, steak, tofu, and ground turkey
• Interacting positively with guests
• Maintaining most current knowledge of menu items, pricing, and specials
• Serving guests throughout the day in a quick and efficient manner
• Maintaining and monitoring rotation of food items and overall food safety
• Providing exemplary guest service
• Washing dishes, taking out trash, sweeping and mopping and maintaining cleanliness of station
• Aiding in other opportunities to help the team stay organized and clean

Physical Requirements

• Extensive standing without breaks.
• Exposure to heat, smoke and cold.
• Reaching heights of approximately six feet and depths of approximately three ft.
• Must have high level of mobility/flexibility in space provided for periods of up to eight hours or longer as needed.
• Effective communication with peers, managers and guests.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.

• Anticipate and understand guests needs and their expectations
• Must be at least 16 years old
