This role reports directly to the Vessel Manager and coordinates with project management to support operational needs and company interests.Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Management:
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all equipment and its location.
- Oversee and manage the repair and maintenance program for all equipment.
- Ensure all equipment is in good operating condition and that repairs are completed promptly.
- Operations Oversight:
- Track and maintain records of daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reports, inspections, and repairs.
- Requisition and manage spare parts, supplies, fuel, lube, and water.
- Monitor mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components on dredges and support equipment.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Enforce safety rules and regulations related to equipment operation and maintenance.
- Initiate corrective and preventative actions to achieve operational goals.
- Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with State/Federal regulations and improve company programs.
- General Duties:
- Provide mentorship and supervision to staff and crew members.
- Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
- Proven experience in equipment management and maintenance supervision.
- Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance skills.
- Strong analytical and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to comply with safety regulations and work effectively in team environments.
- Flexibility to work at remote project locations for extended periods.
- Must be reliable, motivated, and eligible to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential).
- Familiarity with operating marine equipment, tools, and devices.
- Strong stress management, teamwork, and results-driven competencies.
