About This Position
Statement of Purpose:
The Director is responsible for managing coding and operations.. The Director protects patient privacy, confidentiality and security but discloses medical information appropriately via paper record or electronic media to patients, clinicians and administrators for diagnosis, treatment, reimbursement, research, teaching, legal, planning and management purposes on a timely basis. Serves as the Privacy Officer. The Director performs these functions in a manner consistent with the Milford Regional Medical Center mission, vision and goals. The Director reports to the Vice President, Finance/ Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Administration
Certification / License: RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
Experience: Requires 3-5 years of management experience in a Health Information Management Department which includes knowledge of all departmental functions. Knowledge of all regulatory and accrediting agencies i.e. Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, Department of Public Health, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
