Accountant at Whitaker Group – Somerset, Kentucky

Applicant should possess strong organizational skills and basic accounting knowledge. Successful candidates will be able to multi-task, work independently and have strong written and verbal communication skills. While prior accounting experience is preferred, recent college graduates with an accounting or business degree will be considered. We are willing to train the right person!

Job duties: responsible for a variety of general accounting functions as well as providing support for store managers

• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Daily bank updates
• Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany accounts
• Payroll administration
• Handling month-end activities and creating journal entries
• Financial statement preparation
• Sales tax preparation
• Other duties as assigned and trained

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures
• Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
• Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of Quickbooks or a similar accounting program
