Job Overview: Medical Laboratory Technician analyzes samples of blood, urine and body fluids,

Preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously, and accurately interpreting the results are all part of a medical technician's job,

Qualifications:
Required:

Associate Degree in an accredited Medical Technology program or related science

Preferred:

American Society for Clinical Pathology Certification ASCP or equivalent certification

Scheduling Requirements:

• Full Time
• Day Shift
• Weekend and Holiday rotation required

Essential Functions:

• Determines normal and abnormal components of blood, urine, and body fluids,
• Performs complex oncology differentials,
• Performs and interprets clinical laboratory tests, obtaining data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease
• Analyzes blood cells by counting and identifying cells, using microscopic techniques and procedures

• Ensures operation of analyzers and other laboratory equipment by calibrating; completing preventive maintenance requirements and performs quality control, following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, evaluating new equipment and techniques
• The Medical Laboratory Technician records all data regarding maintenance, quality control and CAP surveys,
• Maintains laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies and verifying receipt of supplies,
