About This Position
Nursing Supervisor
Coordinates hospital operations during assigned shift. Makes decisions required for effective operation of the hospital. Ensures a high quality of patient care, including compliance with physicians’ orders and hospital policies. Interprets operating procedures and policies. Reviews work performance to determine conformance to recognized standards for patient care. Assumes responsibility in absence of Administrative personnel. Graduation from an approved school of nursing. BS or MS in nursing or a related field preferred. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Must demonstrate competencies in judgment, making and delegation. Must possess critical thinking and problem solving skills. Must demonstrate ability to maintain good working relationships with staff supervised, medical personnel, and other departments. A minimum of two years in acute care nursing required. Experience in critical care preferred. Certification in BLS required. Certification in ACLS and PALS preferred. Experience as a charge nurse or demonstrated leadership abilities required.
