Surgical Coordinator at New York Ophthalmology – The Bronx, New York

New York Ophthalmology is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Surgical Scheduler to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently manage the surgical booking process from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the full scheduling process for cataract and other ophthalmic surgeries
• Coordinate with surgeons, patients, surgery centers, and insurance providers
• Follow up with patients and ensure pre-op and post-op requirements are met
• Identify opportunities to upsell premium surgical options and communicate benefits to patients
• Maintain accurate records and ensure no detail is missed
• Support additional booking tasks and administrative duties as needed

Requirements:

• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and comfort discussing medical and financial options with patients
• Self-governing and reliable – must be able to manage time and workload without close supervision
• Experience in ophthalmology or surgical scheduling preferred
• Willingness to occasionally travel to other NYOPH locations when needed
• Based primarily out of our Brooklyn office
• Spanish speaking
