About This Position
Position Summary:
The Audiovisual (AV) Field Engineer - II to provide technical commissioning support for audiovisual (AV) and IT systems in the field. This position requires hands-on technical expertise in AV systems integration, networking, audio and video equipment, and related software. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, punctual, and an effective communicator who can ensure high-quality commissioning of complex audiovisual installations.

Wired and wireless TCP/IP network configuration
Conferencing and collaboration system integration
System testing, punch-list development, and final acceptance support
Technical documentation and record-set markups
Configuration file, code, and graphics management
Client-facing technical support and on-site communication
Cross-functional project team collaboration
Organization, time management, and attention to detail
Provide field engineering and technical commissioning support across all stages of AV system deployment
Configure, program, test, and troubleshoot AV/IT systems to ensure optimal performance
Load, test, and edit control code and GUI files (Crestron, Extron, AMX, QSC), including remote support when required
Configure and tune DSPs and audio systems
Set up and calibrate video systems, including color balancing and signal verification
Conduct comprehensive system testing, commissioning, and punch-list creation
Verify systems are physically complete and compliant with contract documents
Collaborate with project teams to support documentation accuracy and project close-out
Identify and communicate potential change order opportunities to project leadership
Mark up field documentation and maintain organized archives of configuration files and system data
Support final acceptance and client training as needed
Assist in onboarding and training new Field Engineers when assigned
Maintain open communication with project teams to support successful project delivery
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or equivalent experience preferred
Minimum of 4 years of AV/IT technical support or field engineering experience
Strong hands-on experience commissioning and troubleshooting AV systems
Proficiency with Windows and Apple operating systems
Experience configuring audio, video, and conferencing systems
Working knowledge of control systems, DSPs, and AV networking
Familiarity with communication protocols (IP, RS232, RS485, USB)
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and system designs
Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently in the field
Certifications:
Ability to obtain AVIXA CTS within one year of hire
Ability to obtain CompTIA A+ (or equivalent) within one year of hire
Work performed at customer sites, offices, and construction environments
Regular use of hand tools, test equipment, and computer systems
Ability to walk job sites, climb ladders, and access equipment locations
Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work on feet for extended periods
Ability to lift and carry equipment as required
Comfortable working in variable indoor and outdoor conditions
