The Opportunity

We are looking for skilled Construction Manager who are local to the area. This position will report to the Director of Operations and offers an opportunity to join a strong, collaborative team at an early stage of growth, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the continued expansion of GRC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network
  • Work directly with the market manager to ensure safe and quality construction practices are being met by our internal and subcontract crews
  • You will be in the field working alongside the crews 75% of your day
  • Field verifies all construction progress as the work is completed
  • Field verification entails using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets of all newly placed conduit, vaults, etc.
  • Collect pictures, bore logs, and other data from crews to support customer Quality Control requirements
  • Learn and apply all quality metrics to ongoing and completed work to ensure that finished construction product meets customer, municipality, and environmental specifications and requirements
  • Night work (shifts) on rotation

Required Qualifications

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience working with and around directional drilling crews in the utility construction industry
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Ability to work constructively with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, Municipalities, and other stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of utility construction practices and terminology
  • Able to read, interpret and adjust various construction drawings/prints
  • Experience with locating systems
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience in data management
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • A valid driver's license is required for all positions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience with Google Suite and other data entry software

Additional Information

  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Location: Texas, California, and Colorado
  • Reporting to: Director of Operations
  • Compensation range: $80,000 - $100,000 + 15% bonus
  • Target start date: 2-3 weeks from offer
  • Schedule Options:
    • 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
    • On-call and weekend availability
    • Day Shift: Monday - Friday
    • Night Shift: Sunday - Thursday
