Industries of the Blind, Inc (IOB) is a 501c (3) not-for-profit organization headquartered in Greensboro, NC whose Mission is to provide opportunities for employment and personal development for people who are blind or visually impaired to achieve greater independence. IOB has grown over the last 85 years to employ more than 250 people, 140+ whom are blind. IOB is a self-sustaining organization, meaning that we support our non-profit business and our employees with the products we manufacture and services we provide. IOB manufactures textiles, assembles office supplies and janitorial products, and provides 3rd party distribution services. IOB's customers include the US government, the military, and commercial businesses.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
IT Support Specialist is a full-time role that provides technical support to our production and office staff to quickly resolve any technical issues, handle software upgrades, and other technical support functions as needed. He/s will respond to help desk tickets in a timely, efficient and thorough manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Previous experience providing IT support services in a company or business
Experience providing information technology support in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple projects simultaneously
Able to discern how to prioritize support tasks
Experience in a help desk capacity.

JOB DUTIES:
- Install and configure software and computer systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with software or hardware.
- Provide Assist internal clients through steps to help them resolve their technical problems. Maintain procedures and reports that provide technical support to the entire organization.
- Log help desk ticket requests and document resolutions for tracking purposes
- Provide recommendations for hardware/software improvements to improve efficiencies and limited downtime
- Provide technical support to both the Gate City and Market Street locations as needed.
- Support end users in utilizing new equipment successfully and assist in providing training support.
