The Pediatric Intensive Care unit, located on WKS campus, is designed to meet the needs of critically ill infants, children, and adolescents. Specially trained staff have the knowledge, skills, and judgement to provide quality care to the critically ill to achieve the best possible outcomes for these children. We believe in family-centered care, involving the parents/family and patients in all aspects of care, including decision-making.

Nurse-to-patient ratio in this unit is 2:1. New employees receive a PICU-specific orientation as well as cross-training in other areas. We offer ACLS, PALS and NRP at no cost to employees, as well as specialty differential pay. Maintaining a healthy work environment includes taking care of staff. To help balance home life and work, we offer flexible scheduling.
