Maintenance Technician at Signum Dorn – Solon, Ohio

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for focusing on routine maintenance tasks, supporting the team’s efforts to enhance machine reliability and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions

• Routine Maintenance and Repairs.
• Conduct regular maintenance tasks as per the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Perform minor repairs on machinery and equipment under guidance.
• Complete assigned preventive maintenance tasks diligently.
• Assist in identifying equipment issues during routine checks.
• Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities.
• Ensure machines are calibrated and function correctly.
• Assist in emergency repair situations to reduce downtime.
• Provide support to senior technicians during complex repairs.
• Help manage spare parts and maintenance supplies inventory.
• Notify the team when stock levels are low to prevent delays.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks performed.
• Complete maintenance checklists and update logs promptly.
• Follow all safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Participate in safety training and contribute to a safe working environment.
• Support maintenance needs at both Dorn Color and Signum locations as required

Supervisory Responsibility
• This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to varying temperatures. The environment is an active plant with continuous noises from equipment inside the plant.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and possible climbing all day. The employee must be able to lift and or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.
(Subject to change based on business demands)

Travel
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience
• Ability to read, write and speak English (Required)
• High School diploma or GED
• Be able to continuously lift 50+ pounds
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to work well in a team
• Comply with all company safety rules and guidelines
• Team player: volunteer to help where needed to get job done, and enhance skills
• Two-year Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.
