About This Position

Position Description: Overview:
Financial Advisor position has primary responsibility for sales and marketing of investment and insurance products in the geographic areas assigned. May handle large book of clients with more complex financial profiles.

Responsibilities and Results:
Accountable for sales of a full range of securities and insurance products and achieving targeted revenue goals within the assigned territory.
Daily client appointments in office (or at clients preferred location).
Always uphold SSB service standards.
Cultivating relationships with bank employee partners, making outbound sales calls both in person and via telephone.
Follow up on sales leads, and overall growth investment program book of business.
Develop and maintain visible presence in communities served.
Must maintain highest level of compliance with all SSB, LPL Financial, and regulatory policies and procedures.
Frequent travel required as position will provide coverage for several bank branches.
Must demonstrate ability to simplify and communicate complex financial concepts
Assists with any other duties as directed or required by Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Bachelors degree preferred
Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65/66 required
State of Michigan Life and Health licenses required

Work Experience:
Prior broker industry experience required

Skills and Knowledge:
Highly developed sales, service and presentation skills.
Interpersonal skills necessary to relate to and empathize with other people and to maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor throughout the day.
Ability to operate standard office equipment including an adding machines and computer.
Good math, written and verbal skills required.
Proficient using PC, via keyboard/mouse, and various software applications.
Demonstrated ability to maintain integrity and privacy of confidential information.
Ability to work well under pressure and quickly assess and respond appropriately to questions.
Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly and multi-task.
Good organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, excellent communication skills.
Ability to work as contributing member within the team.
Results driven, self-starter.

Other Job Responsibilities:
Ability to process requests with accuracy and speed.
Employee will adhere to the Shelby State Bank Professional Business Attire requirements.
Interpersonal skills to represent the bank in a positive way in dealing with customer transactions and interaction with co-workers.
May be asked to travel to other offices to work as needed.
Will attend employee meetings as required.

Working Conditions:
Minimal discomfort experienced from noise, heat, dust, or other causes.
Small and confining work area.
Exposed to a potentially hazardous situation in the event of a robbery. Employee will receive detailed training, instructions, and procedures to be followed to minimize this risk.
Regular and on-time attendance is required.
