About This Position

The LPN performs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse and is delegated an assignment by him/her to achieve quality patient care. The LPN shall assist the RN in the implementation of the nursing process by providing direct patient care as evidenced, but not limited to, patient care documentation, direct observation, and patient evaluations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to read data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Completes the Care Plan Progress Note each shift. Performs Medication Reconciliation Process on Admission, discharge and as needed. Performs required documentation each shift. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to perform wound care with dressing changes, demonstrates knowledge and skills to perform blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.

  • Demonstrates technical aptitude for performing secretarial and general unit duties.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively communicate and interact with patients, families, visitors and the whole healthcare team.
  • Demonstrates skills to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Embraces and practices the We Care philosophy in all aspects of patient, visitor, co-worker, employee and non-employee interactions.
  • Demonstrates the aptitude to navigate the electronic medical record and complete documentation.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the care plan process and their responsibility of documentation.

Qualifications:

Education/Skills

Graduate of a recognized non-online LPN program required.

Work Experience:

Work experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE

  • Licensed LPN able to practice within the State of MS

Additional Certification/Licensure - Obtained based on required timeframe below

  • Basic Life Support

Within 30 Days of Employment

Required

  • IV Expanded role of a LPN

Upon Hire
