Purpose:
Provided care for the barn animals and supports clients in engaging in recreational activities; trains and supports seasonal Assistant Wrangler
Principle Accountabilities:
• Provide a standard level of care for horses and visiting animals.
• Facilitate pony rides for varying programs and clients.
• Provide a safe and engaging environment for campers and clients to interact with and ride horses, with the majority of programming taking place from April to October.
• Ability to adapt pony rides to meet the specific needs of individual clients.
• Responsible for communicating any concerns to the Director, Hospitality and Facilities Management
• Responsible for cleanliness and maintaining the horse barn and supplies.
• Ability to collaborate with team members.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and assist with agency events that host horse rides.
• Work cooperatively with team members and volunteers in adapting horse-related activities to meet the needs of participants.
• Understand and comply with all policies and procedures.
• Carry out safety rules and policies regarding all activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

The interview process consists of a first phone interview with the Recruitment & Talent Development Coordinator and a 2nd interview with the Department Specifics Team Leader.
Requirements:High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum age of 18.
• Experience with horses required.
• Desire to support people with disabilities.
• Ability to work within a team structure, accepting and providing coaching and guidance.
• Ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards related to an activity; to model and enforce appropriate safety and emergency procedures.
• Ability to assess appropriate and safe behavior and provide positive behavior support when needed.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and lift.
• Ability to transfer or move a minimum of eighty pounds.
