Position Summary:
The FP&A Manager is responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function within the organization. This role involves developing financial forecasts, analyzing financial performance, providing insights to support strategic decision-making, and collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Forecasting:
- Manage the annual budgeting process.
- Coordinate with department heads to gather budget inputs and assumptions.
- Create detailed financial models to support the budgeting process.
- Manage the rolling forecast and communicate changes in year-end landing toVP of Finance.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare monthly actual vs budget variance analyses, conducting in-depth analysis of key business drivers.
- Analyze customer profitability and present underlying drivers of variance vs budget.
- Identifytrends, risks, and opportunities based on financial data.
- Prepare borrowing base calculations for bank reporting.
- Track working capital metrics (DSO, DPO, DII)
- Track labor hours, labor rate/lband other production metrics vs plan, documenting drivers of variances.
- Determinevariances to standard COGS.
- Generate management reports to communicate financial performance.
Business Analysis:
- Assess economics of a wide range of corporate initiatives andcapitalinvestmentsdecisions, and present solutions to management; create models to translate actual results to leading indicators.
- Own the customer bid process; partner with sales,logisticsand other departmentsdetermineoptimalselling prices to customers.
- Provide insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with department heads and business leaders to understand their financial needs.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensureaccurateandtimelyfinancial reporting.
- Partner with other functional areas to support company-wide initiatives.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously review and enhance financial planning and analysis processes.
- Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to streamline workflows.
Essential Job Requirement:
- B.S degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of five years of fullP&L,FP&A responsibility
- Familiarity with standard costing of inventory
- Ability to work independently, including resolution of complex accounting issues in areas of responsibility.
- Ability to analyze complex data, generatealternativesand clearly communicate salient findings to drive positive change.
- Demonstrated understanding of key financial processes
- Excellent analytical skills
- Proactive approach to meeting deadlines, problem-solving
- Must have intermediate-advanced level of Excel skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be collaborative, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods.
