Accountabilities- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable backend services for a mission-critical platform.
- Serve as a technical mentor and advisor, guiding engineers on best practices, code quality, and architectural decisions.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with product, infrastructure, and engineering teams to ensure alignment with business strategy.
- Prototype and implement foundational services while promoting maintainability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Establish and promote engineering standards, guidelines, and processes to elevate quality across the organization.
- Evaluate and advocate for innovative technologies and solutions to improve platform reliability, developer experience, and scalability.
- Contribute to long-term technical strategy, ensuring architecture evolves to meet growing business and regulatory needs.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering or software architecture, with deep expertise in backend technologies.
- 3+ years in a technical leadership role (Staff, Principal, or Architect) for SaaS products supporting engineering teams of 2550+ engineers.
- Proven experience influencing cross-functional teams and driving technical decisions without direct authority.
- Strong knowledge of service-oriented architecture, cloud-based systems, and distributed system best practices.
- Expertise in security, scalability, performance, and maintainability of complex systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively bridge technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred: Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries; familiarity with high-growth startup environments; demonstrated ability to implement innovative technical solutions.
