About This Position

Position Summary

New River Electrical (NRE) is seeking a collaborative and outcome-driven PMO Lead to establish and champion our first formal IT Project Management Office (PMO) with a specific focus on enterprise business systems. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing a holistic IT project intake process for core business applications.

The PMO Lead must be seen as a partner and advocate for internal stakeholders while providing disciplined IT governance to ensure the organization is prioritizing the initiatives with the highest business impact. You will be expected to lead through influence to bring projects initiated within functional business areas into a unified IT portfolio, ensuring these systems are scalable, integrated, and professionally managed. This position reports to the VP of Information Technology.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Business Systems PMO Foundation: Design and manage a standardized IT project intake process specifically for enterprise business applications (ERP, HRIS, LMS, etc.) and establish formal Project Management and Business Analysis functions.
  • Business Justification & ROI: Lead the development of business cases and justifications for proposed IT initiatives, ensuring that system investments are strategically aligned and provide clear value to the organization.
  • Stakeholder Advocacy: Serve as a dedicated partner and advocate for business units, facilitating communication between IT and internal stakeholders to ensure system requirements meet operational needs.
  • Enterprise Project Execution: Serve as a hands-on Project Manager for large-scale business system implementations, upgrades, and integrations, ensuring they are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Portfolio Governance: Maintain standardized oversight and reporting to ensure IT resources and investments are focused on the highest-priority business initiatives rather than disparate, localized solutions.
  • Group Facilitation: Act as a confident leader in project-related group discussions, driving consensus and clear decision-making among diverse stakeholders and functional owners.
Qualifications
  • Experience: B.S. in Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Requires 10+ years of IT experience, with a heavy emphasis on the project management and lifecycle of enterprise business systems (ERP, HRIS, etc.).
  • Business Acumen: Proven experience building business cases, justifying technology spend, and identifying opportunities to modernize manual business processes.
  • Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated history of leading through influence in complex environments, with a strong ability to build partnerships across business units without direct authority.
  • Communication & Facilitation: Exceptional interpersonal and group facilitation skills, with the ability to lead project discussions and translate complex business needs into technical requirements.
  • Methodological Proficiency: Strong background in Project Management and Business Analysis methodologies, particularly as they apply to software implementation and business process optimization.
