About This Position
Sunshine Disposal & Recycling has an opening for a Wheel Loader Operator at our Spokane Valley, WA facility. This is a full -time, four days per week ten (10) hours per day job. The current available shift is Thursday-Sunday 6:30 am to 5:00 pm. The pay rate for this job is $23.91 per hour, with a $1.00 wage increase after 12 months of employment and is subject to annual COLA beginning in 2027. Previous experience in operations of similar equipment is preferred. Some OJT will be provided for company processes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each of the essential duties/responsibilities listed below.
- Arrives to work on time daily. Performs Pre-trip inspection of the equipment to make sure everything is operating correctly, maintenance is not necessary, and all equipment/systems are safe to operate.
- Actively maintains safe distance from employees/public to ensures the safety of all employees in the work area surrounding equipment.
- Loads and pushes garbage to ensure the main floor is clear.
- Loads trailers to the specified weight amount as assigned.
- Cleans pit and ensures parking lot is clear of debris and garbage.
- Assists with staff transportation and pick up of supplies using company pickup truck.
- Attends all meetings as necessary including the daily toolbox safety meeting.
- Communicates regularly with customers, truck drivers and crane operators as to where material is needed and load completion.
- Performs equipment post trip after shift is completed, completes post-trip inspection form and lets the Site Supervisor know of any maintenance necessary.
- Performs special projects for the Site Supervisor and other management team members.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Certificates/Licenses: To perform this job successfully, an individual must:
- Forklift Operator’s Certificate required or must be completed at time of hire
- Complete HAZWOPER training when scheduled by the company
- Fall Protection Training required at time of hire
- Complete Aerial Lift Training when scheduled by the company
- Complete all other safety and skill training when scheduled by the company
- Must have valid driver license and meet insurance carrier requirements for operation of pickup trucks
Physical Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
- Regularly (6 or more hours) sit, stand, walk, pull/push, grasp, fine finger and feet manipulation,
- Occasionally(1-3 hours) climb, lift(up to 50 pounds), stoop/crouch, crawl carry, and reach.
- Clearly see 20+ feet, with or without corrective lenses and differentiate between colors.
