The Role
We are currently hiring a Legal Research Analyst to support our Mass Tort team in researching and evaluating large-scale legal settlements across mass tort and MDL matters, helping identify and assess both current and future opportunities. This is a non-traditional legal role focused on legal research, settlement analysis, and opportunity discovery.
As a Legal Research Analyst, you will review and analyze mass tort, MDL, and class action filings, settlement agreements, and related court documents to understand how settlements are structured, administered, and evolve over time. Your work will directly support research, strategy, and business development efforts.
Prior experience in lien resolution is not required. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working through dense legal language to extract practical, business-relevant insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze mass tort, MDL, and class action filings, settlement agreements, and court orders to understand settlement structure, scope, eligibility, and administration logistics.
- Monitor active and emerging mass tort and MDL matters to identify current and future settlement opportunities
- Track case developments, procedural milestones; leadership, admin and general filings using structured research and tracking systems
- Synthesize complex legal information into clear written summaries and insights for internal stakeholders, including leadership, sales and client relations teams
- Collaborate internally to develop research frameworks and evaluation criteria for new opportunities
- Support client-facing and business development teams by providing settlement intelligence that informs prospecting and strategy
- Assist with drafting internal memoranda, summaries, and select agreements related to settlement research and analysis
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school required.
- 3-5 years of experience in legal research, legal analysis, or settlement-focused work, including exposure to mass torts, MDLs, class actions, or complex litigation
- Proven ability to understand legal cases and convey its essence through written and verbal communications to C-Level executives.
- Demonstrated skill in extracting operational and commercial implications from legal materials
- Proficiency in Excel to track and analyze research findings
- Intellectual curiosity and comfort working in a fast-paced, research-driven environment
- Excellent organization and time management skills when working with large volumes of documents and data
- Familiarity with PACER, LexisNexis, Law360 or other docketing systems preferred
- Experience supporting legal research for business development, strategy, or analytics preferred
- Proficiency in CRM software; experience working within Salesforce-based platform preferred.

- Compensation: $105,000+ base salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
