About This Position
We are seeking a motivated and proactive Assistant Store Manager for the new Skywalker Ranch store in the Presidio to support daily operations and ensure an exceptional guest experience. The Assistant Store Manager assists in leading retail floor activities, overseeing merchandising standards, supporting inventory processes, and guiding sales associates to maintain a high-performing and guest-focused store environment.
As a Skywalker brand ambassador and sales team lead, this position will analyze all aspects of store performance.
Primary Responsibilities
Store Experience & Team Support:
- Maintain an aesthetically appealing, organized, and guest-ready store environment
- Support the achievement of daily and weekly sales goals across all product categorie
- Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of Retail Sales Associates in partnership with management
- Consistently deliver exceptional and attentive service to all clientele
- Provide daily direction to Retail Sales Associates and support smooth store operations
- Uphold visual merchandising standards in line with brand guidelines and seasonal directives
- Communicate guest feedback, product insights, and sales trends to store management to support future merchandising decisions
- Report on product sell-through and client feedback to make recommendations and decisions for further merchandising strategy
Product & Inventory Management:
- Develop strong product knowledge to support Retail Sales Associates and enhance client engagement
- Oversee and participate in routine operational tasks including shipping/receiving, stock organization, restocking, and inventory accuracy
- Review receiving documents, transfers, damages, and returns to ensure proper handling and documentation
- Assist with sales reporting, cycle counts, and periodic inventory processes
- Help monitor stock levels to minimize loss and maximize product availability
General Duties:
- Perform a variety of store related tasks with flexibility and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with company policies regarding safety, security, cash handling, and store maintenance
- Assist in reviewing store operations to maintain smooth workflow and adherence to standards
- Help maintain store security protocols and ensure a safe environment for guests and staff
- Support problem-solving and contribute ideas that improve service, efficiency, and productivity
- Collaborate closely with the store team to provide seamless, discreet, and thoughtful service
- Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly with professionalism and confidentiality
- Additional responsibilities based on your unique talents/abilities
- Other duties as assigned
Education / Experience:
- 2-4 years of retail or boutique supervisory experience (luxury preferred)
Required Skills / Competencies:
- Strong understanding of premium or luxury clientele expectations
- Ability to guide, support, and motivate sales teams
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- Proficient with MS Office; experience with POS or inventory systems is a plus
- Well-organized with strong multitasking abilities
- Able to remain calm under pressure
- Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
- Professional appearance and demeanor
Technical Skills:
- PC Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Travel Requirements:
- Reliable means of transportation
- This role is based in San Francisco, but may require occasional work in Marin County. Transportation to Marin can be arranged by the Company if desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to use keyboard/mouse up to 8 hours per day
- Approximately 85% of the workday is spent on a computer
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- This role involves frequent physical activity—bending, lifting, standing, sitting, reaching, and walking—for about 75% of the day
- Repetitive tasks primarily involve computer use
