Job SummaryGeneral Summary of Duties: Responsible for providing and managing oral health care for a specified patient population. Reports To:Dental DirectorDepartment:DentalBusiness Unit:Sacred Circle Ancillary ServicesPatient Care:YesWorker Status:Full-Time, SalaryBenefits Eligible:YesHours Per Week:40Work Schedule:To Be Determined with the availability of 8:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday. Typically, four 10- hour shifts per week. Evening and weekend work may be required depending on position requirements.Schedule Type:Typically, four 10-hour shiftsLocation:Multiple clinic locationsSupervisory Responsibilities:None
Major Responsibilities/Tasks: Provides and manages direct patient care, including oral examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed oral health conditions.Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of dental assistants or dental staff.Trains and supervises dental students, dental assistants, or other dental staff.Keep accurate patient records of history and activities regarding all treatment and medications.Keep abreast of advancements in dentistry.Comply with all applicable state/federal laws, rules, regulations and procedures.Participates in professional development activities. Maintains strict confidentiality. Must read and understand and adhere to all Sacred Circle Healthcare policies and procedures. Practice and adhere to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values statements.Reads, understands, and adheres to all Sacred Circle Health Care Policies and Procedures.Practices and adheres to the Code of Conduct and Mission and Values Statements. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinical and administrative staff, and the public. Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies and procedures. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
