About the role:

As the National Accounts Manager at Smithey Ironware, you will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with key national wholesale accounts. You will work closely with the Director of Sales and the broader sales team to execute strategies that drive profitable growth, increase brand visibility, and strengthen Smithey’s presence across premium retail and corporate channels.

This role requires a balance of strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Use sales forecasts in partnership with internal and external teams to support account planning and merchandising decisions. By cultivating strong relationships and developing customized growth strategies for each account, you will ensure that Smithey continues to deliver exceptional value to partners while meeting or exceeding sales targets.

POSITION TYPE: In-office with travel requirements (up to 25%)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and grow strategic relationships with national wholesale accounts, ensuring alignment with Smithey’s brand and business goals. Currently three accounts with 180+ combined doors
  • Develop sales plans and account strategies, evolving them in response to performance and market conditions.
  • Use account performance insights and market context to guide account-level decisions.
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and product teams to support on-time fulfillment, promotional alignment, and effective merchandising.
  • Maintain sales forecasts and account data within NetSuite, Shopify, and Pipedrive to support timely and informed decision-making
  • Lead line reviews, planning discussions, and business reviews with key partners as needed to support growth.
  • Coordinate with internal creative and marketing teams to develop in-store and digital merchandising tools.
  • Support the execution of trade shows and customer visits.
  • Monitor pricing, inventory levels, and profitability trends to guide sustainable growth decisions.
  • Share insights on account performance, competitive activity, and customer feedback to inform ongoing strategy.
  • Onboard new major national accounts with 10+ doors as growth opportunities are identified.
  • Hire, train and manage a team of brand ambassadors that service and drive sell-through in national account doors nationwide.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience managing key or national accounts in the consumer goods, home, or lifestyle sectors.
  • Proven success in driving revenue growth and strengthening retail partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale sales cycles and merchandising best practices.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within a CRM system (NetSuite preferred).
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working cross-functionally.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and brand identity.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and highly collaborative.

Salary: Base Pay + Bonus

Location: North Charleston, SC - In office with travel requirements (up to 25%)
