About This Position
Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles, diagnosing issues using computerized tools, performing routine services like oil changes and tire rotations, and fixing or replacing worn parts (brakes, sensors, engines) for cars, trucks, and other vehicles, while also explaining repairs to customers and maintaining detailed service records.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Diagnostics: Use diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems.
Maintenance: Perform oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, tire rotations, and tune-ups.
Repairs: Repair or replace components like brakes, sensors, suspension parts, and engines.
System Expertise: Service engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems.
Customer Service: Communicate findings, explain repairs, and provide cost estimates to clients.
Documentation: Keep accurate records of work, parts used, and vehicle condition.
Testing: Conduct road tests to confirm repairs are successful.
Tool Use: Proficiently use hand tools, power tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment.
Safety: Adhere to all safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace.
Training: Stay updated on evolving vehicle technologies, including electric and alternative fuel vehicles.
Essential Skills:
Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Proficiency with automotive tools and computers.
Good communication and customer service.
Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
