Position Title: Busperson / Food Runner - Pool
Reports To: Pool Manager

Role: The Busperson / Food Runner supports the dining team by promptly expediting and delivering food orders, maintaining table settings, and ensuring guests receive timely service for items such as water, coffee, tea, and soft drinks. Working closely with servers, the Food Runner helps manage stations, assists with guest needs, and keeps service areas organized to ensure a smooth and efficient dining experience. This role requires consistent professionalism, accuracy, and adherence to department service standards throughout each shift. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters teamwork and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Experience: 1- year of hotel/restaurant Food Runner experience
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills to coordinate efficiently with servers, kitchen staff, and guests
- Excellent time‑management and multitasking abilities to handle multiple food deliveries and tasks
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food presentation, order delivery, and table maintenance
- Guest‑service skills with a warm, professional, and helpful demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while remaining calm and organized
- Teamwork and collaboration, supporting servers and back‑of‑house staff as needed
- Basic food knowledge, including dish components and menu familiarity
- Physical stamina, including the ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
- Problem‑solving and adaptability to adjust quickly to guest needs or service changes
- Cleanliness and sanitation awareness to maintain health and safety standards
- Required:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Required Work Cards needed:
- Valid Clark County Health Card
Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Promptly expedite and deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests, ensuring all dishes arrive with proper presentation, correct temperatures, and within expected time frames.
- Maintain fully set, clean, and organized dining and lounge areas, including wiping tables, resetting sections, and ensuring all poolside service areas remain guest‑ready throughout the shift.
- Provide attentive support to guests by refilling water, coffee, tea, soft drinks, and other non‑alcoholic beverages as needed.
- Assist servers by covering stations, running completed orders, and responding quickly to guest requests to ensure smooth and efficient poolside service.
- Monitor pool deck activity to anticipate guest needs while maintaining awareness of safety and cleanliness standards unique to outdoor environments.
- Keep service stations stocked with necessary supplies, utensils, napkins, and condiments, ensuring seamless service flow during high‑volume pool periods.

Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. Additionally, smoking is permitted in casino areas consistent with Nevada state regulations, which are followed by the employer.
