Pay-Depending on Experience.

The Underground Utility Foreman will be responsible for supervising crews that install wet and dry utilities in a variety of settings including water lines, storm drain and sanitary sewer lines, and dry conduits. A pipe layer / operator will be assigned to a variety of jobs ranging from heavy highway, underground utilities, commercial site work, street improvements, waste water and water projects.

Position Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Efficiently coordinate job tasks and ensure timely completion
2. Address unforeseen problems that may arise in the field
3. Serve as a competent person on site
4. Complete administrative duties as assigned
5. Ensure compliance with the company's safety policies and practices
6. Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices
7. Examine blueprints to determine structure dimensions
8. Lay out floor plans/worksite as needed
9. Determine the sequence of activities involved in fabrication, assembly, and erection of the structure
10. Assign tasks to workers
11. Inspect work performed by subordinates to ensure conformance with specifications
12. Study production schedules and estimate worker hour requirements to complete job assignments
13. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
14. Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality to increase the efficiency of the work crew
15. Analyze and resolve work problems, assist workers in solving work problems, and initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals
16. Maintain time and production records
17. Estimate, requisition, and inspect materials
18. Maintain general knowledge of equipment used on the job, including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes
19. Read and understand a two-week construction schedule
20. Assist with ordering supplies, completing reports, and collecting, reviewing, and submitting time cards, as directed by the Superintendent

Position Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Has minimum 10 years experience with underground utility installation.
2. Has minimum 5 years experience as a foreman over a crew.
3. A minimum of 4- Prefer someone who has experience installing Storm Sewer/RCP, Waterline, and Sanitary Sewer.
4. OSHA 30 is a plus
5. If they have a crew to come with, that’s a plus
6. Flexible availability to include overtime and weekends.
