Marine Electrician at Omega Protein – Reedville, Virginia

Responsibilities:

The Marine Electrician will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing the specific duties below:

• Perform installation, maintenance, repair and replacement of marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems for fishing vessels
• Troubleshoot problems and provide recommendations for problem resolution
• Provide estimates for repairs, replacement, and installation according to problem diagnosis and repair/replacement recommendations
• Order parts and do follow-up to maintenance
• Communicate with manufacturer’s as technical resources
• Perform routine and annual maintenance on boat electrical and electronic systems
• Strong working knowledge of major brand marine electrical and electronic systems; installation, maintenance, repair and replacement
• Complete all tasks safely
• Report all hazards, accidents, injuries or environmental excursions immediately to your supervisor or a member of the management team
• All other duties assigned

Minimum requirements:

• High school diploma or trade school certification preferred
• Excellent work ethic
• Ability to work overtime, weekends and rotating shifts as required
• Ability to travel as required
• Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry heavy objects
