Responsibilities:

• Establish, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Lead safety programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hazard Communication, PPE compliance, and Machine Guarding.
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to proactively identify hazards.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain comprehensive safety records, reports, and documentation to meet regulatory standards.
• Design, coordinate, and deliver safety training for employees, contractors, and new hires to ensure compliance and awareness.
• Monitor, track, and report key safety metrics (e.g., TRIR, DART, near-miss trends) to leadership.
• Promote a strong safety culture through engagement, leadership visibility, and cross-departmental collaboration.
• Manage emergency response planning and coordinate with external agencies when necessary.
• Oversee proper use and maintenance of PPE and other safety equipment.
• Support workers compensation management in collaboration with HR and insurance providers.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of EHS leadership experience in heavy manufacturing, steel, automotive, or industrial environments.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA 1910 regulations and industrial safety best practices.
• Strong expertise in environmental health, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven leadership, communication, and training skills.
• Skilled in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
