About This Position

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for developing and optimizing rubber NVH components that deliver superior vibration and noise control performance. This role drives product design from concept to launch using APQP principles, ensuring manufacturability, durability, and cost efficiency through close collaboration with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Optimize designs for rubber NVH components (ex. bushings, mounts, isolators) used on chassis and powertrain systems. Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet performance, durability and cost targets.
  • Select and specify rubber compounds and component materials to achieve target NVH performance, considering factors such as vibration isolation, part strength and durability.
  • Develop prototypes and conduct testing (ex. rate, fatigue, and corrosion tests) to validate component performance against specifications.
  • Manage projects from release to launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., manufacturing, quality, and purchasing/suppliers) to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Work closely with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to understand requirements, provide technical support, and confirm essentials for vehicle integration.
  • Partner with production teams to develop robust manufacturing processes including stampings, castings, fasteners and coatings.
  • Ensure all designs and processes comply with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SAE) and customer-specific requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for design optimization, cost savings, and performance enhancement using innovative engineering techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or in another applied science such as materials or manufacturing technologies required.
  • Literacy in Vibration, Stress/Strain, Dynamics, GD&T, DFM, VE, DOE, DFMEA/PFMEA, FEA, CAD & data acquisition
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with strong customer service orientation.
