About the Program
Join Marotta Controls' Engineering internship/Co-Op Program and take your classroom knowledge into the real world of aerospace and defense. The MCAD Co-Op Program provides engineering students with hands-on experience supporting the design and documentation of aerospace and defense mechanical and electrical systems. Participants assist engineers with the creation/modification of 3D models, mechanical drawings and other aspects of mechanical design while learning industry design tools, standards, and configuration control processes used in regulated aerospace and defense environments. The program builds practical skills in mechanical design, engineering documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
- Create and modify 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using PTC Creo.
- Assist mechanical engineers with the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
- Generate and update engineering documentation including drawings, BOMs, and supporting design data.
- Maintain configuration control and manage drawing revisions within the PLM system.
- Support design reviews by preparing models, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Assist with prototype builds, basic fit checks, and documentation of test or build results.
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Aerospace Engineering, or Materials Engineering program.
- Strong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD (Pro-E/Creo preferred).
- Detail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Availability to work full-time onsite beginning September 2026 through the end of December 2026.
Work Environment:
This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
- The Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel
- The Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
- The Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds

Pay Range: $18.00 - $24.00/hour
